April 2019

No Fixed Abode – Julian Beacham

Taonga Education Centre Charitable Trust – Erana Doolan

Road Safety Education – Maria Lovelock

The first impactNPO Hackathon of 2019 was a major success! 40 amazing volunteers delivered a wide range of IT solutions for 4 incredible charities.

No Fixed Abode was looking for a website update to help find homes for the homeless. Over the weekend their website was upgraded with new features, user testing, a smoother workflow and a brand new chat feature.

Taonga Education Centre Charitable Trust was struggling to show the positive outcomes of their amazing work with young mothers. Their website got a massive overhaul, with updated search engine optimisation and Google Analytics. We also helped Taonga Education to apply for a not for profit ad grant, and helped them to join several social media platforms.

Road Safety Education was looking for a way to solve their management of 60+ events a year, which was primarily organized with a lot of manual labour and excel spreadsheets. We decided on a Content Management System called Zoho, and helped to import Road Safety’s past data into it. We also included Eventbrite integration, which alongside the imported data, helped to automate a lot of the past manual processes.

New Zealand Boatbuilding School was struggling to gather enough traffic and revenue to their website and events. We completely build them a new wordpress website, with a modern theme. This included Donorbox + Stripe integration for donations, Eventfinder integration for ticket sales and events, and MailChimp for a sign up mailing list.

Overall it was an incredible weekend, with awesome collaboration between the charities and volunteers, which resulted in some extremely beneficial solutions.
